Zina Abbott now has a NEWSLETTER

Well, not quite. I have subscribed to Mail Chimp and now have a newsletter sign-up. As soon as I get a list of subscribers, I will worry about newsletters.

Why a newsletter, do you ask? After watching what other authors do successfully, I have decided the best way to reward my loyal readers with special offers is through a newsletter. Newsletters let my subscribers know when I have a new book available and when they can get books at a discount price. They can also let subscribers know of events.

An example of an event is the Blog Blitz to feature the my latest release, Her Independent Spirit, which I have scheduled for Monday, April 11 through Wednesday, April 13.This blog blitz is designed to accomplish three things:

1.  Spread the word about Her Independent Spirit as wide as possible to as many potential readers as possible.

2.  Sweeten the deal by offering one chance in fifty of winning a copy of Her Independent Spirit using the Amazon Giveaway program. I've never used it, but I'm willing to try it once. Other authors have used it successfully.

3.  Third, and possibly more important to me and, hopefully, rewarding to my readers, I will encourage participants to sign up for my newsletter.

Where do you sign up?

I tried to make it as easy as possible. It is in the upper right-hand sidebar of this very blog.

That is the good news about my newsletter. The even better news is that subscribers will not need to worry that I will bombard everyone's inbox with emails. I don't publish that often, and I'll be lucky to get one out each month.

HER INDEPENDENT SPIRIT Galleys

Just received my galleys for Her Independent Spirit. My next task is to check it over for editing errors before the book is published.

This is exciting!

Now is a good time for sharing the book description:

About the Book:

Although widow Beth Dodd has agreed to wed Val Caldwell, she puts their marriage off until the end of the year. She still desires to have a place of her own that she and her little sister can fall back on should something go wrong in the future. Widowed in California, she has an estate coming to her that is worth far less than her portion from the Ohio farm that her pa sold to her late husband for the express purpose of providing Beth with a husband and a secure place to spend her life and raise a family. That was before her late husband sold out and left her behind so he could return to the mines in the eastern Sierra-Nevada Mountains. Now, she is in the eastern Sierras, but it is land, not gold and silver, she seeks.

Louisa Parmley has a decision to make. Will she give up her baby in order to resume working as a prostitute at the Blue Feather brothel? Or, will she take Beth up on her offer to keep her baby, leave whoring behind, and work as a cook? And, will the stubborn German cook, Gus Herschel, who owns the chop shop at the back of the Arcade Saloon where Beth works, give in to Beth’s badgering and promises? Knowing Louisa’s past, will he allow Louisa to bring her baby there and work as a cook in spite of the Arcade Saloon’s strictly-enforced policy of “no upstairs girls”?

Cover Reveal: HER INDEPENDENT SPIRIT

Today is an exciting day for me.
Prairie Rose Publications
just sent me the cover for my next book in the
Eastern Sierra Brides 1884 series.

Perhaps you have seen this banner on Facebook and Twitter.

I can now fill in that blank for

Her Independent Spirit.

First, the tag line on the cover:

Will independent spirits yield to hearts bound by love?

For those who have read the first two books in the series, you may notice that there are two new faces in the hearts at the top of the cover.

Yes, you will continue to follow the love story of Beth and Val.
However, there is a new romance in the Eastern Sierra of 1884.

You've met them before.

Want to take a guess who they are?

And now, for the beautiful cover for this third book in the
Eastern Sierra Brides 1884 series.

I love the gorgeous spring colors.

I hope you love the book as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Here it is:

Her Independent Spirit
is tentatively scheduled to be released the end of March.
